EXPLORING MADAGASCAR

Where to go

Madagascar is a big island that takes time to travel. When it comes to planning a trip in Madagascar, one of the key considerations is how to divide your time on the island.

To help with this process, we often divide the island into four regions and recommend spending around 10 -14 days in each.

This allows you to fully explore the unique attractions, natural beauty, and culture of each region without feeling rushed. However, based on your preferences, a region can be visited in shorter days.

Whether you're interested in the dense rainforests of the east, or the white sandy beaches of the southwest, there's something for everyone in Madagascar.

By dividing your time wisely and planning your tour carefully, you can make the most of your visit to our amazing island.

The north-west region of Madagascar is the most visited part of the island for good reason – it offers a huge range of activities and attractions in a short amount of time.

Nosy Be, the number one tourist spot in Madagascar, is a great place to start, with comfortable accommodation and fantastic island excursions.

Combining Nosy Be with a little mainland adventure, you can experience the cacao plantations, the city of Diego Suarez, and the Sava region's famous vanilla triangle.

Overall, the north of Madagascar is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the island, offering a mix of relaxation and adventure that can't be found anywhere else.

The Tropical East

If you're a nature lover looking to see a wide variety of flora and fauna, the wet forests of eastern Madagascar are a great choice.

Stretching from north to south along the eastern coast, these forests offer a host of adventures and activities for travelers. You can take the slow train through remote villages and steep hills, travel along the Canal Pangalanes, or relax on the sandy beaches of Nosy Boraha and Nosy Nato.

No matter what you choose to do, the east of Madagascar is sure to be filled with adventure and natural beauty.
